Bear McCreary does have this 'method' of putting together sets of instruments that you wouldn't expect heard simultaneously, yet he makes it work so well. That and Storming New Caprica are two really good examples of that sort of work. Roslyn's Escape on BSG OST disk 4 gets honorable mentions.
